Kindergarten Announcements
Thank you
We had SO MUCH fun during our 100th day and Kindness day parties! Thank you to the parents and grandparents who were able to be here to help! Thank you also to everyone who sent in items for snacks, games, and crafts. One of our boys said this was "the best Valentine's day EVER". The 100th day projects were so fun and creative! They will be coming home tomorrow. Thank you for all the time and work you and your child put in! Everyone has commented about how unique and 'cool' they all are! I have put the pictures of our parties in our shared Google photo folder!
ELA
Students learned to summarize what they see in pictures and read in books. We also practiced fix-up strategies such as checking pictures and re-reading to clarify and better understand the text.
Our spelling words are: cup, hop, bat, bib, Bob, fat, fin, rap, rip
Math
We learned to solve Put Together, Total Unknown story problems. In other words, students are showing what happens in a story problem and solving it using manipulatives, drawings, and numbers.
Writing
We are finishing up our personal narratives and will be moving onto writing about our opinions.
Social Studies
We answered the question, “How do we get goods and services that meet our wants and needs”. We shared examples of personal trades and completed the “trade” page in their “Economics Vocabulary Books”.
Science
Force Olympics: We read a book about twins named Mimi and Lulu who try different ways to catch a mysterious nighttime visitor…until they hit on just the right solution. We learned how to be an inventor and designed a new machine that can do chores.
P2: Appreciation for Beauty and Excellence
You appreciate the world’s beauty and the amazing things people can do. This strength helps you notice things around you that make you feel good.
