October 2nd Newsletter
What we have been learning...
ELA
We practiced more of our Daily 5 routine which included word work activities, and listening to reading. We practiced rhyming and listening for beginning sounds, segmenting and blending compound words.
Math
Students learned to look for small groups of objects and name how many without counting. We developed one to one correspondence and learned to act out number stories.
Writing
The students took turns telling stories aloud about everyday things. They also wrote in their journals about their feelings and learned to capitalize the first letter of a sentence.
P2
We learned about being open-minded and how much fun it can be to try new things. We also learned that it’s important to be optimistic about the future and not give up hope that good things will happen.
Welcoming a new friend
Last Monday we had a new friend join our class. Her name is Maycee Rader and we are so happy to have her! When planning for snack, we now have 27 students!
